Snowdonia National Park can be found in North Wales and covers the counties of Gwynedd and Conwy. At over 800 square miles, with 37 miles of coastline, the National Park has the highest mountain in England and Wales - Snowdon - and the largest natural lake in Wales. There are many beautiful towns and villages, surrounded by mountains, such as Betws y Coed and Beddgelert, which are just waiting for you to explore them with your dog.
Snowdonia has many attractions to offer visitors, such as railway trips through the stunning countryside and white water rafting. Due to the slate industry in the area, there are many narrow guage railways to visit, and old railway tracks to walk along. Ffestiniog Railway will takes you on a stunning 13.5 mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog - which interestingly enough, isn't included in the National Park! This train journey climbs 700 feet from sea level into the mountains. If you prefer something a little flatter, then you could try the 9 mile Bala Lake Railway, whose main station can be found at Llanuwchllyn. There are plenty of stations to stop off at before jumping back onto the train.
There are many historical sites in North Wales that welcome you and your dog, such as Dolbadarn Castle and Pont Minllyn. If you are a little more active, try mountain biking, fishing, horse riding or golfing. Whatever you want to do in Snowdonia National Park - you are sure to find plenty to do.
We hope that you found a dog friendly holiday in Snowdonia National Park for you and your pets.
