The Yorkshire Dales National Park covers nearly 700 miles of land, mainly through North Yorkshire, but also into Cumbria too. There are many activities for visitors to The Dales to do - the main ones being walking and cycling. There are several long distance walks to do, such as The Pennine Way, The Dales Way, Coast to Coast and The Pennine Bridleway.
p There are many visitor centres dotted around the park at major tourist destinations - Aysgarth Falls, Grassington, Hawes, Malham and Reeth. Other places to visit in the National Park are Cautley Spout Waterfall - England's highest above ground waterfall; Gaping Gill (or Ghyll) - a natural cave; Hardraw Force near Hawes - England's largest single drop waterfall; Sedbergh with it's famous public school, ancient buildings, charming shops at the foot of the Howgill Fells and the Settle to Carlisle Railway - possibly England's most scenic railway.
