The accommodation consists of 7 different properties, sleeping from
2 to 6. Three south facing cottages with stunning sea views and a
converted sandstone steading which has been converted to form 4
cottages (2 with balconies). These attractive cottages are
beautifully situated in 160 acres of grazing and woodland glens, and
all with stunning sea views across the Moray Firth.

Torran House is the family home of Mike and Linda Johnson who have
two very friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
The
house is a former gamekeeper’s cottage, recently modernized and
extended, set on a mountain 250m above mysterious Loch Ness and
surrounded by wild Scottish moorland, teeming with wildlife -
everything, in fact, except the Loch Ness Monster itself! Dogs and
owners can roam for miles but be careful - this is sheep country!
There is accommodation for a family of 5 in a separate guest wing
with its own entrance; 2 bedrooms; private sitting room (with single
put-u-up); private shower-room; satellite TV and broadband access,
where visitors can enjoy their privacy.
Below Torran, nestling in Glen Urquhart is the village of
Drumnadrochit, 15m south of Inverness, capital of the Highlands.
Drumnadrochit is the centre of Loch Ness Monster research, and
blessed with a good choice of inns and restaurants.

families of 4. Originally built about 200 years ago, this building
was once the original farm house for Wester Lix farm, now tastefully
refurbished throughout with the owners unique style. This has
proven to be extremely popular with smaller groups, often couples,
that are looking for spacious 'real home' accommodation.
The
ground floor consists of: double aspect lounge with open fire; large
dining room leading into a spacious kitchen offering electric oven
with gas hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of working
space; utility room with washing machine and freezer, and a
downstairs WC.
Upstairs there is an extremely spacious master double bedroom and a
second bedroom offering twin beds and family bathroom all accessed
from a feature hallway. Additional beds or a cot can be made
available for younger guests by arrangement.
The
front door leads out onto the gravel courtyard with outside dining
area and Lochan.
Other features include oil fired central heating, double glazing
throughout, Satellite Digital TV plus DVD and video players on
request at no additional charge. The cottage benefits from
computer network points for Internet access (Ethernet and WiFi) - by
arrangement.

River Spey. The cottage is over 150 years old and has been
recently refurbished to a very high standard, providing excellent,

Many guests find this location is an ideal base to visit nearby
attractions such as the Moray Wildlife Centre - part of the Dolphin
& Whale Conservation Society in Spey Bay, the Findhorn Foundation,
Pluscarden Abbey and the World Famous Whisky Trail with many
distilleries located in Moray. The beach at Kingston is an
ideal spot to look for dolphins as they make their way up and down
the coast; an estimated 150 live in the Moray Firth.
