Darwin Forest in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District is one of the UK’s top holiday parks providing luxury self-catering holiday accommodation. The park has recently won ‘Gold’ in the Visit England Awards for Excellence, was named ‘Best in Britain’ at the 2023 Hoseasons Awards is now a finalist in the 2024 Visit England Awards for Excellence. Darwin Forest has also been awarded the Trip Advisors Travellers Choice Award and is very proud of the high number of guests who return year after year.
Darwin Forest is a 5-star lodge holiday park that is set within 47 acres of stunning woodland. It is located between Matlock and Bakewell in the Derbyshire Peak District. Onsite they have 137 luxury lodges and a range of fantastic facilities.
The lodges are the perfect place to stay for a romantic break, a family holiday or to get together with friends and family for a special occasion. Lodges sleep from two to eight people and offer home from home comforts. Each lodge has a veranda with outdoor furniture for dining alfresco and spa lodges include an indulgent outdoor hot tub. They have eight types of lodges with many welcoming pets.
Lodge Details
The park accepts two dogs of any size in their lodges designated as pet friendly. Please remember to bring your pet basket and bowls with you to make your dog feel at home. Well behaved pets may be left unattended in lodges for short periods however, you are welcome to take your dog into the bar area at the Foresters and the Explorers cafe.
The Coppice Spa is a spectacular development of seven luxury pet-friendly lodges designed with pets and muddy boots in mind. The Coppice Spa lodges and Spinney Spa lodges all feature an enclosed spacious veranda with outdoor washing facilities for paws and boots. They also include an indulgent outdoor hot tub and quality outdoor furniture for you to relax. There is a utility area with stable doors that has plenty of space for your dog’s bed and feeding bowls. The Coppice Spa lodges also include a unique doggy shower in the utility area.
All the lodges have easy access to the forest trail for exercising your dog. However, please remember to respect other guests by keeping your dog on a lead whilst on the park.
Park Details
The park boasts an impressive range of facilities. These include Evolution Health and Fitness Centre which includes a spa area and beauty rooms; the Foresters bar and restaurant and Little Monkeys indoor play centre. There is also an array of woodland walks and cycling trails. They also have a selection of sporting activities for all the family including tennis, mini-golf, archery and waterwalkerz.
Darwin Forest is ideally located for visiting the Peak District which was the UK’s first National Park. It is home to breathtaking views with an abundance of walks and cycling trails just waiting to be explored. Add to this a vast array of stately homes, theme parks, family attractions and natural wonders such as caverns and dales. You and your family will have a fantastic range of exciting days out to choose from. Chatsworth House, the Heights of Abraham and Alton Towers are just a few of the attractions nearby.
