Area Details
Dorset borders Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. The county is largely rural with half of the population living in the south east area. Over half of the county is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Dorset, with its spectacular Jurassic coastline, is a great place to visit with your dogs. Explore Lulworth Cove, Chesil Beach, Durdle Door and the Isle of Purbeck. There are also woodland walks, river valleys and pretty heathland to see too.
There are plenty of attractions too that welcome dogs. These include Corfe Castle, Beaminster Museum and the Portland Museum. For those days you want to spend on the beach, there are plenty that are dog friendly all the year round. You could try Eype, Gundimore, Kimmeridge Bay or Worbarrow Bay for some great dog walking.
We hope that you have some great dog friendly holidays in Dorset.
For dog friendly places to visit in Devon, go to our blog post here. We have a great list of dog friendly pubs and cafes too.
