The Downs Details

We try to make Dogs and owners feel very welcome at The Downs in Babbacombe, Torquay. 

The Downs is situated right on the seafront on the South West Coastal Path and Babbacombe Downs; all favourites with local and visiting dog owners. We offer award-winning breakfasts, free WiFi and optional evening meals in our fully licensed AA accredited 4* Guest Accommodation. 

The Babbacombe Downs, boasting the highest Promenade in England, sits atop two beaches – Babbacombe & Oddicombe; one of which is doggy friendly all year round. We have some lovely walks within the immediate area and boats, buses, taxis and trains are all dog friendly too. 

Pubs and bars within walking distance all welcome doggies, as do a number of local attractions like Babbacombe Model Village & Bygones. There is also a local dog sitting service for those guests wishing to visit somewhere where dogs are not permitted. 

Enjoy spectacular panoramic views over Lyme Bay from the balcony of 8 of our 12 en-suite rooms. We allow dogs in our licensed Lounge Bar and for those owners who prefer to be with them at all times, we serve breakfast & dinner in this area too.
