Falmouth is a port on the south coast of Cornwall, England at the mouth of the river Fal. The town is 11 miles from Truro; 3 miles from Mabe; and 2 miles from Penryn.
Falmouth has a lot to offer visitors! The natural harbour, winding streets, and beaches are very quaint and picturesque. The town’s old harbour-side pubs and excellent shopping are a popular option for tourists.
The National Maritime Museum is a great place to learn about Falmouth’s history and connection to the sea. Whilst a visit to Pendennis Castle provides a glimpse into the town’s past, and its connections to Henry VIII.
St Mawes – across from the harbour – is a lovely place to visit, with rocky coves, sandy beaches, and beautiful countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Easy to reach by taking the passenger ferry from Falmouth, or take the car for the 15 mile road trip and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
For nature lovers, the Swanpool Nature Reserve has a variety of wildlife and is a site of special scientific interest. For those who enjoy golf, the nearby golf course would be a great way to spend some time outdoors.
