A few miles north of Hadrian’s Wall situated at the highest and most spectacular point is where you will find Scotchcoulthard Holiday Cottages. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery and refreshing walks to enjoy at your leisure.
Staying at Scotchcoulthard Holiday Cottages with your pets is a special experience. There is no limit on the number of dogs, and no extra charge. You can relax knowing that your four-legged friends can also enjoy a wonderful holiday. Each cottage has its own stove which is always a big hit with the dogs who can collapse in front of it to dry out after a long walk.
Cottage Details
There are three self-catering holiday cottages here at Scotchcoulthard Holiday Cottages, sleeping between 1 and 7. There is a B&B room with twin beds with an en-suite shower, and access to a kitchen. Designed to be used as an extra room for overspill from the cottages, it can also be used independently with a DIY breakfast.
A games room is available, complete with a table-tennis table, a snooker table, a darts board and children’s toys.
On the farm itself, we have hens and rare breed Manx Loghtan sheep. We have plenty of places to tire your dogs out as we are surrounded by common land, right to roam land and a forest.
Scotchcoulthard is ideal for families with adventurous children. With a large back garden, your children can run and hide without disturbing anyone. From exploring the woods, to climbing trees and walking through streams, your children will always find something new and exciting to do! Bring a tent and give them the option to camp. They can base themselves as near or as far away from the cottage as you would like.
Scotchcoulthard Cottages are peaceful and remote, the local town, Haltwhistle, is just seven miles away. The town has two small supermarkets and your basic shopping needs fulfilled. Carlisle and Newcastle are easily accessible within an hour’s drive.
To keep adults and children interested, you will find that Scotchcoulthard is situated near various Roman Museums. Close by is a Go-Ape at Matfen. Various pubs and restaurants are nearby, with a full recommended list included in the cottage, along with other helpful information.
